Lacaune Sheep Print
A portrait of the Lacaune sheep, the iconic breed of the Occitanie hills. Known for their resilience and noble profiles, these sheep have shaped the landscape of Southern France for centuries.
It's a painting capturing the textured wool and the gentle, intelligent gaze of a creature that is as much a part of the earth as the soil itself.
Scientific Details:
-
Species: Ovis aries
-
Breed: Lacaune (Originating from the Monts de Lacaune, Tarn).
-
Characteristics: Unique among sheep, the Lacaune is "double-purpose" but world-renowned for its milk. Their wool is often lighter on the chest, a detail I’ve captured using layered oil glazes to mimic the soft, airy texture of their coat.
Technical Specifications:
-
Original medium: Professional-grade oil paints on archival 100% cotton paper.
-
Print quality: 200 gsm premium matte paper.
-
Style and palette: Earthy realism with artist-mixed raw umbers, soft ochres, and permanent white with hues of king's blue.

Packaging & Shipping
I carefully package your orders with consideration of the weather, handling, and its impact on the environment. Your pieces are protected with either a glassine or plastic sleeve. They may ship out in a cardboard rigid mailer (originals, prints), tube (A3 size), or regular envelopes (stickers, monthly mail club).
